Upload your own DXF or SVG file directly. SVG files preview instantly — you can see exactly what you're sending to Cut. DXF files are sent directly to the Cut engine. Both get a quick pre-flight check against plasma viability rules before anything is processed — we flag open paths, missing geometry, and obvious issues so you don't burn a credit on a bad file.

Draw It — Tools & Shortcuts
How Draw It Works
FLOW
Place shapes on a true-scale canvas (72px = 1"), size them to exact dimensions, combine them with Break / Trim / Group, then Send to Cut →. What you see is what gets cut.
AREA
The work area is 20" × 14". The inch / mm button at the top of Properties switches every dimension field and readout between inches and millimeters — geometry never changes, only the displayed numbers.
Tools (top of the toolbar down)
V
Select ↖ — click to select, drag to move, corner handles to resize. Shift-click to multi-select. Alt+click to reach a shape underneath.
L
Line ∕ — click to start, move to preview, click to finish. Snaps to grid; Esc cancels. A line crossing a shape is a real intersection — break and trim work at the crossing.
R
Rectangle ▭ — click to place a 4 × 3" rectangle. Set exact W / H and corner radius in Properties.
C
Circle / Hole ○ — click to place a 3/8" circle. Type the exact diameter in Properties. 0.375" minimum for plasma.
S
Slot ▬ — click to place a 2 × 0.5" slot with fully rounded ends. Resize in Properties.
Gear — opens a dialog for outer diameter, number of teeth, center bore, and tooth height, then drops a parametric gear / sprocket on the canvas.
Bolt Circle — opens a dialog for bolt-circle diameter, number of holes, and hole diameter, then places the holes evenly spaced around the circle.
Star / Polygon — opens a dialog to choose Star or Polygon, the number of points / sides, the outer diameter, and (for stars) the inner ratio, then drops the shape on the canvas.
M
Mirror ⇄ — drops a mirrored copy of the selection alongside the original (original stays put). Works on a single shape, a group, or a multi-selection.
E
Text T — pick a font in the picker above first, then click to place. Resize freely.
Dimensions & Properties
SIZE
Select any object and the Properties panel shows editable Width, Height, X, Y (plus corner radius on rectangles). Type a value and the shape updates instantly. Steps are 1/8".
UNIT
The inch / mm toggle (top-right of Properties) converts every field and the live cursor readout between inches and millimeters.
FIX
Clean Up for Plasma rounds all sharp interior corners to the safe minimum in one click.
ALIGN
Align & Distribute — with 2+ objects selected, the button row in Properties aligns their edges or centers; with 3+ selected, it spaces them evenly (horizontal or vertical).
Node Handles — Always On
Cyan anchors — at every corner and endpoint of a selected path. Drag to reshape in real time. Snaps to grid when SNAP is on.
Yellow diamonds — at the midpoint of each segment. Click one to delete just that segment.
Purple dots — bezier control points, shown for reference on curved segments.
TIP
Handles appear automatically on any selected path — no mode to enter. They hide while you drag or resize, then return.
Edit Tools — Break · Trim · Group · Mirror
B
Break ⚡ — click where two paths cross. Every path through that point splits into clean, separate pieces — lines, circles, rectangles, gears, anything. If nothing is crossing nearby, it splits the nearest path at the click. Break before you Trim.
T
Trim ⎁ — after breaking, hover a segment between two break points; it glows red. Click to remove just that piece — the overlap inside a hole, the line inside a shape, an arc you don't want.
G
Group ▣ — select 2+ objects and press G to bundle them into one. Press G on a group to ungroup. Position, scale, rotation, and mirror are all preserved.
M
Mirror ⇄ — drops a mirrored copy of the selection beside the original — perfect for opposite-hand parts.
Del
Delete — removes the selected object. To remove a single edge instead, click its yellow diamond.
ORDER
The rhythm is Break → Trim: break creates the split points, trim removes the unwanted segments. Group when the piece is finished.

Cancel the current tool — aborts an in-progress line, drops Break / Trim / any active tool back to Select, and clears the selection.

Plasma Rules
MIN
Hole diameter — 3/8" (0.375") minimum. Smaller holes won't pierce cleanly.
MIN
Slot width — 1/4" (0.250") minimum across the narrow dimension.
MIN
Wall thickness — 1/4" minimum between any two cut paths.
MIN
Corner radius — 0.094" minimum on interior corners. Clean Up for Plasma auto-fixes all.
MIN
Hole inset — holes sit at least hole radius + 3/8" from any edge.
Walkthrough 1 — Line Through a Circle (Break & Trim)
01Press C to place a circle. Press L and draw a line across it, sticking out both sides.
02Press B (Break) — click where the line enters the circle, then where it exits. Each crossing splits both the line and the circle.
03Press T (Trim) — click the line ends sticking outside the circle to remove them, leaving just the chord inside.
04Trim the circle arc on whichever side you don't want, press G to group, then Send to Cut →.
Walkthrough 2 — Bolt-Circle Flange
01Press C — place a circle for the flange body and set its exact diameter in Properties.
02Click the ✳ Bolt Circle tool — enter bolt-circle diameter, number of holes, and hole diameter. The holes drop in evenly spaced and centered.
03Add a center bore with C if needed, sizing it in Properties.
04Select all, press G to group, click Clean Up for Plasma, then Send to Cut →.
Walkthrough 3 — Opposite-Hand Bracket (Mirror)
01Press R — place a plate and type its size in Properties (e.g. 8" × 6").
02Design one corner bracket profile off to the side using lines, arcs, and holes.
03Select the bracket and press M (Mirror) to create the opposite hand, then position it on the other side of the plate.
04Break and Trim where parts meet, press G to group, Clean Up for Plasma, then Send to Cut →.
